65th Jubilee Plate Tournament - Our plans to run the latest Jubilee tournament had to be postponed last year, due to the Covid-19 outbreak. A recent Committee Meeting has determined that we will replan this for later this year - most likely in September. Check out the details here.

2 May 2022 - The Annual General Meeting of the Paraparaumu Badminton Club will take place on this date, during that evening's Club Night. Our club's President will present his annual "state of the nation" report, and Club officials will be appointed.


February 2022 (Adult Club) - The regular badminton season for this year kicked off on Monday 21 February. The cost for casual play from that date is $5 per week.  Our Full Membership Fee for the regular season is currently set at $30 - to be reviewed again at this year's AGM.

Covid-19 Update:  Our part of the country is currently at the Red level of the Traffic Light restrictions for Covid - which means we'll be able to run Club sessions for our anticipated number of participants. However, you will need to be fully vaccinated. Hand sanitisers will be provided onsite, social distancing will be observed. You will also have to wear masks between games. If you have Covid symptoms please stay away until you have tested Negative.


February 2022 (Junior Club) - Our Junior Badminton sessions did not take place last year, due to a vacancy in the position of our Junior Coordinator. However, that position has now been filled, and the weekly junior sessions will resume from the beginning of Term 2 in 2022.

December 2018 (Global and Association) - New rules for Serving came into force globally from this date, and have subsequently been accepted by Badminton New Zealand.  Rule 9.1.6 the whole shuttle shall be below 1.15 metres from the surface of the court at the instant of being hit by the server’s racket.  Check out the Video.
