65th Jubilee Plate Tournament - Yes, it's been five years since our last Jubilee tournament, and the Club is delighted to advise that the next invitational tournament in the series will be held later this year.  The tournament was originally slated for 4 September, but had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Check out the details here.

September 2021 (Adult Club) - The regular badminton season is now in full swing. The cost for casual play from that date is $5 per week.  Our AGM was held in May, where it was decided to keep the Membership Fee for the regular season at $30.

Covid-19 Update:  Our part of the country is currently at Alert Level 2. Our Club Nights are resuming on Monday 13 September. Hand sanitisers will be provided onsite, social distancing will be observed, and Contact Tracing supported via our QR Code poster for use with authorised Tracing apps on mobile phones.


May 2021 (Junior Club) - Our Junior Badminton sessions has not been taking place as we filled the recently vacated position of Junior Coordinator. The good news is that we've identified a suitable candidate, who will run the weekly sessions from the beginning of term 2 in 2022. However, because we can't run any sessions this year, we are directing enquiries about this to Waikanae Badminton Club, who's contact details are shown below (in the Useful Links section). They run Junior sessions on Tuesdays.

December 2018 (Global and Association) - New rules for Serving came into force globally from this date, and have subsequently been accepted by Badminton New Zealand.  Rule 9.1.6 the whole shuttle shall be below 1.15 metres from the surface of the court at the instant of being hit by the server’s racket.  Check out the Video.

  • There's badminton for anyone with free time on a Tuesday afternoon - including older members of the community, at the Waikanae Memorial Hall, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm on Tuesdays.  The 2021 season has commenced.  Contact Paul for more details (E-Mail: "").
