October 2024 (Adult Club) - The regular badminton season for this year closed on 28 October.  For the next 6 weeks, the club will run its popular Business House competition.  The 2025 season will commence on Monday 24 February 2025.  The cost for casual play is $10 per night.  There are no other membership costs, but if you elect to play in specific tournaments during the year, there may be extras participation charges.

Annual General Meeting - The club;'s last AGM took place on Monday 6 May 2024, where office bearers and other Committee members were appointed.  Approval was also granted to progress re-Incorporation of the Club to align with recent (2022) legislation, and these activities were completed on 12 May 2024.

Covid-19 Update:  The Government's current stance for Covid, means unfettered play on Club-nights and all related Club and Regional competitions.

 

Junior Club - Unfortunately, due to the recent resignation of our Junior Coordinator, our Junior Badminton sessions have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.  If this position changes, we'll provide a further update here.  In the meantime we're advising all current and candidate junior players to consider using the Waikanae Club's junior sessions, which take place on Tuesday evenings at the Waikanae Memorial Hall (Refer to Waikanae contact details in "Useful Links" below).

December 2018 (Global and Association) - New rules for Serving came into force globally from this date, and have subsequently been accepted by Badminton New Zealand.  Rule 9.1.6 the whole shuttle shall be below 1.15 metres from the surface of the court at the instant of being hit by the server’s racket.  Check out the Video.

  • There's badminton for anyone with free time on a Tuesday afternoon - including older members of the community, at the Waikanae Memorial Hall, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm on Tuesdays.  Contact Paul for more details (E-Mail: "xtr118950@xtra.co.nz").
